Romee KANIS is a realistic sculptor. Her bronzes are casted in strict limited numbers, starting from a modello she realizes in wax or clay. She often makes use of colored patinas for her finishing.
Portraits on demand, female persons and animals are her favorite subjects. Romee Kanis is modeling natural female beauty, without idealizing excessively their representation, with the objective to render at the best the sentiments of her subjects. Romee specialized in life-sized statues for parks and gardens.
She studied at the “Gomes Academie” in Badhoevedorp (NL), and was a pupil of Marian Sanders of Amstelveen (NL). She followed also the Masterclasses of Richard Macdonald at Monterey (USA). Her statues are from then permanently presented by the most well-known galleries in The Netherlands.
