Initially a language teacher, Odile KINART studied sculpting at the Art Academy of Genk (Belgium). She has been deeply inspired by African and Pre-columbian ethnic arts, for their simplicity and the tangible pleasure of their creations. Kinart was at first famous for her ceramics: round heads full of poetry. But since 1995 she prefered bronze for her in- and outdoor sculptures. More recently she also successfully works up vivid coloured glass and polyester. Her figures tell a story and attest concord, peace of mind and simple happiness, with an outstanding and outmost personal style. Odile Kinart was born in 1945 in Limburg. She made exhibitions in most West-European countries, but her fame nowadays also reaches up to the United States and Canada.
