As from her youngest years, Elisabeth BESNIER felt herself particularly attracted by fine arts. She nourished a strong emotion in the implementation of very simple matter : collages, drawings, reproduction of artwork, portraits… After a visit, as a young adult, to an artist’s workshop, a girlfriend gave her for her anniversary a water-colour box, a brush and a bloc of paper. She tried immediately… and the charm never stopped. Short afterwards, Elisabeth joined a workshop at Elbeuf (France), conducted by painter Régis Bouffay. At present she makes almost no water-colours anymore ; she prefers the consistency of oil painting for her portraits, and acrylic for her landscapes. Still painting figurative, Elisabeth works as of now with the knife. Her definition of painting: « A sensitive expression, magnified by the game of composition and colours ».
Elisabeth Besnier was born in 1970 in Romans-sur-Isère (France). She lives today in Normandy.
