Christian CADELLI works up gypsum in which he inserts natural stone, bronze, wood, and sometimes leather. This both very hard and stable material allows warm patinas. Resolutely contemporary, his sculptures are inspired by primitive art and a bit raw at first sight. They are but the results of extensive research, resulting in accomplished creativity and emotion. Cadelli is a true innovator, and this is an increasingly rare quality these days.
Christian Cadelli was born in Belgium in 1953 from a family of craftsmen from Friul. He was initiated to basic techniques of gypsum working by his father. He is an associate-member of the Taylor Foundation, and present in several galleries and exhibitions in Belgium and abroad.
