Figurative Expressionism impregnates the work of CHRISLEN, alias Christine LENOIR, sometimes exaggerating or distorting the physiognomies, sometimes playing on framing in order to create intimity, or to see the subject from an unusual angle. Her sources of inspiration are Egon Schiele and Lucian Freud. Her preference's theme: the living and especially the Woman. She shows the naked body, crude and stripped of conventional aesthetics. Her work today focuses on the eyes.
Born in Paris in 1967, Chrislen graduated from the Faculty of Visual Art St. Charles in Paris.
