Brita SEIFERT, is drawing since childhood.  This is both her passion and her outlet. "- Drawing saved my life," she says seriously, and we understand that her path has not always been plain sailing...  Initially formed at the Academy of Leipzig (East Germany), the discovery of Italian artists such as Bruno Di Maio, Walter Girotto, and Leonardo Da Vinci became for her a decisive training element, as were the works by Gottfried Helnwein and Albrecht Dürer. Her today’s drawings and pastels are thus of exceptional finesse.
Brita Seifert was born in 1963 in Leipzig (East Germany). Threatened by the Stasi (the secret police) for 'subversive activities' (she was keeping repeated contacts with the West), she fled in 1989 to Thübingen (West Germany). She came later to Bergen in the Netherlands where she now lives and works. "- A little paradise," she says…
